A Little Bit on Our Farm
We are a family owned and operated farm located in
north central North Dakota, U.S.A. We produce durum wheat, hard red spring wheat,
barley, flax, canola, and mustard.
The past four years our crops have been devastated by scab and the orange blossom wheat
midge. The spring of 1999 brought extensive flooding Our farm is located in the
prairie pothole region of North Dakota, therefore there is a abundance of waterfowl and
upland game. We do our farming mainly with a Cat.
Challenger 75C, Cat. Challenger 95E
and a Concord airseeder. A Ford Newholland TV140 is our utility tractor and has
numerous duties around the farm. We do most of our harvesting with two John Deere 9600 combines and also hire custom
harvesters. An IBEC grain dyrer (www.phoenixrotary.com/data/dryer.htm)
and pneumatic Neuero grain delivery system handles our grain at harvest time.
| For our yard, tree
plantings, & garden maintenance we have used a Yanmar
155D for the past 15 years. This tractor has been a very dependable workhorse
around the our farm. We have also used other Yanmar tractors on our farm for
various duties including a F395 42 HP for augering grain.
These reconditioned compact tractors are an affordable option to buying a new
compact tractor. To learn more visit www.compact-tractors.com

year. That is one of the reasons we have switched to minimum tillage and direct
seeding on our farm. Soil conservation is also a concern and basic economics
has guided us in this direction. We have have been continuous cropping for 25 years.
